Russell G. Fumuso, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Russell G. Fumuso, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a board-certified ophthalmologist offering comprehensive ophthalmology and cataract surgery with premium IOLs.

Dr. Fumuso is currently an attending surgeon at Mercy Medical Center and North Shore University Hospitals. He is a former faculty member of the State University of New York and Downstate College of Medicine. Dr. Fumuso is a recipient of the prestigious Physician's Recognition Award from the American Medical Association and has received several certificates of achievements from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Fumuso earned his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara. Following graduation, he traveled to the U.S. to complete two years of postgraduate education at the State University of New York, Downstate College of Medicine. He then completed a medical residency at Kings County Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn. Dr. Fumuso served his ophthalmology residency at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in NYC, where he earned the title of Chief Resident his final year.

Dr. Fumuso is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He holds memberships with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the New York State Ophthalmological Society, the Long Island Ophthalmologic Society, the Nassau Academy of Medicine and the Nassau County Medical Society.
