Island Eye Surgicenter

Island Eye Surgicenter is a New York State licensed and Medicare Certified Ambulatory Surgery Center. Unlike other surgery centers, Island Eye is unique in that it specializes in the surgical care and treatment of eye disorders. The center is also a N.Y. State licensed Tissue Transplantation facility, and is a leader in the field of Corneal Transplantation. In addition to it's state licensure, the center has been fully accredited by the AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care) a national organization that monitors compliance with the highest standards in ambulatory health care.

Since opening 3 years ago, Island Eye has established itself as a "Center of Excellence" in surgical eye care. The physician staff are among the most prominent in the country. They contribute significantly to ophthalmic research and literature. Many are recognized as leaders in their field and lecture extensively both nationally and abroad.

 

Our Facility

Island Eye was designed specifically for eye surgery. Our three well appointed state-of-the-art surgical suites provide for a safe, comfortable and friendly surgical experience. Patients arrive at the center approximately 1 hour prior to their scheduled surgical time. This allows our professional staff to get the patient comfortable before surgery. Modern Ophthalmic Surgery allows most of our patients to be discharged within one hour after their procedure has been completed. Island Eye can assure our patients that a Board Certified Anesthesiologist will be present at all times.

• Glaucoma Surgery to prevent permanent vision loss. This condition can be treated surgically and even with modern Laser procedures, that may reduce or eliminate your need to use eye drops.
   
• Cosmetic & Reconstructive surgical procedures are frequently performed at Island Eye by our experienced team. From eyelid surgery that can enhance your appearance, to skin resurfacing as well as complicated reconstructive surgery to repair functional or traumatic deformities. Island Eye has the experience to handle all of your cosmetic needs.
   
• Lasik & Refractive Surgery are exciting procedures. Island Eye has the only Bausch & Lomb Technolas Flying Spot Laser on Long Island. This advanced technology allows your surgeon to design a custom approach to your Refractive Surgical problem. In addition to Lasik, Island Eye also offers PRK, and LASEK to correct Myopia, Hyperopia and Astigmatism.
   
• Corneal Transplantation is a delicate procedure. Island Eye is a leader in the field and is a N.Y. State Licensed Tissue Transplantation facility. Our surgeons are also recognized as experts in this very delicate surgical procedure. Corneal Transplantation can dramatically improve vision in patients with serious corneal conditions. We work closely with the very dedicated staff and volunteers at the Lions Eye Bank for Long Island.
